Startup S-Transistors claims it can manufacture Josephson junction field-effect transistors at scale, potentially moving quantum control circuits inside the cryostat. That would eliminate the messy wiring that penetrates the cryostat today, removing a major failure point. The devices use the same Josephson junctions as qubits and compete with cryogenic CMOS, which cannot reach near-absolute-zero temperatures.
