Senate Report: Iran Uses Tether to Evade Sanctions

A Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations report led by Sen. Richard Blumenthal claims Iran uses Tether's USDT stablecoin as a "significant financial lifeline" to bypass bank sanctions and fund proxies. Of 846 sanctioned wallets linked to Iran, 84 percent moved money almost exclusively in USDT. Tether says it froze nearly $550 million linked to Iran this year and disputes the findings.
