Apple focuses AI on user superpowers, not hype

Apple's vice president of Camera Software Engineering, Jon McCormack, said the company is not doing AI for the sake of AI. New generative AI features in iOS 27 for the Photos app include Extend, which expands a photo beyond its frame, and Spatial Reframe, which changes perspective by generating pixels. McCormack said the tools give normal people superpowers.
