Forced extroversion hides real strengths

Years spent performing extroversion can prevent people from discovering their actual talents. The pressure to speak up and be outgoing reflects a cultural preference, not a universal ideal. Personality psychologist Brian Little calls this acting out of character a "free trait" that comes at a significant personal cost.
