UK Debuts Space Squadron to Protect Satellites

The Royal Air Force has established No. III Space Effects Squadron to protect UK satellites and deny adversaries the same benefits. Announced by Air Chief Marshal Sir Harvey Smyth, the unit will use electronic warfare rather than anti-satellite missiles, which the UK has formally ruled out testing. It will support offensive and defensive space operations and expand as new capabilities enter service.
