DOJ Backs Apple on App Store Contempt

The U.S. Department of Justice and several business groups filed amicus briefs urging the Supreme Court to reverse part of Apple's civil contempt ruling in its fight with Epic Games. The DOJ agrees the 27% commission on external purchases was not clearly prohibited, but says Apple was rightly held in contempt over its 'plain button' restriction. Epic responds by November 13.
