Tech firms urge changes to Bill C-22

Canadian and European tech companies sent an open letter Thursday urging ministers to further amend Bill C-22, which would expand law enforcement and CSIS access to digital data. Signatories including Tailscale and Windscribe say it erodes trust and competitiveness. The bill, now under Senate review, already cut metadata retention from one year to six months.
