Iran Nuclear Chief Banned From IAEA Conference

Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, is not expected at the IAEA General Conference in Vienna due to a UN travel ban. Austria sought a waiver for his attendance, but it was not granted. The exclusion follows the reinstatement of UN sanctions, including a travel ban and arms embargo, triggered by France, Britain, and Germany over Iran's nuclear programme. Iran has also restricted IAEA inspector access to nuclear sites since June 2025.
