Zijin Mining built its own 140-ton electric haul truck

Zijin Mining designed the LK220E, a 140-ton BEV haul truck with a 770 kWh swappable battery pack, after no existing electric truck met its needs. Battery swaps take four minutes. The energy cost per tonne kilometer is RMB0.177 for electric versus up to RMB0.68 for diesel. The mine now operates 290 such trucks.
