GM and Ford trade American-made claims

GM claims it employs the most U.S. autoworkers and contributed nearly $50 billion to GDP in 2025. Ford builds more cars in the U.S. than any rival, with 83 percent sold domestically. Neither brand ranks in the top 20 of Cars.com's most American-made vehicles list.
