U.S. bets $2 billion on quantum computing

The Commerce Department signed letters of intent to award over $2 billion to nine quantum computing companies. IBM receives $1 billion for a quantum-grade wafer foundry, GlobalFoundries gets $375 million, and $636 million is split across seven quantum computer builders.
