NewOrbit raises £13.9m to build satellites for near-Earth space

NewOrbit closed an oversubscribed $18.5m Series A to build commercial satellites for Very Low Earth Orbit at 200-300 km. The round was led by Voyager Ventures with angel investors including former NVIDIA Chief Scientist David Kirk. The satellites aim to deliver drone-resolution imagery and direct-to-phone connectivity.
