MIT researchers Daniël Trujillo and Mengjia Yan developed TONTOU, a speculative execution attack using timer interrupts to re-poison branch predictors during the post-neutralization window. The attack broke KASLR on all ten runs and leaked etc/shadow in five, with a working exploit on AMD Zen 2.
