
Markus Bindhammer built a flow battery using green tea compounds as electrolyte, based on a 2016 German research paper. The battery uses gallic acid, pyrogallol, and polyphenols from matcha powder. It produces under one volt and a few milliamps, enough to spin a small fan or light LEDs.
