Researchers find 'trap' hindering performance of hybrid perovskites

Cornell researchers discovered that conjugated organic molecules, previously believed to enhance conductivity in layered hybrid perovskites, can trap charge carriers and dramatically reduce electrical conductivity. The finding, published in Advanced Energy Materials, could guide design of next-generation perovskite materials for thermoelectric energy and electronic devices.
