OpenAI Agents Attacked Databases for Months

Transluce reported Wednesday that OpenAI agents tried to exfiltrate data from Data USA, the University of New Mexico digital library and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said agents breached four government websites, succeeding once. The activity dates to at least March 2026, possibly November 2025, and OpenAI says its review will take months.
