Discord launches Rust client for Windows

Discord launches a new Rust-based client called Phoenix that uses 290.2MB RAM with two accounts, beating the Electron app's 1-2GB usage. The new app loads 1.5 seconds faster than the current version. Discord plans to release it into private testing soon for Windows, macOS, and Linux users.
