Bird, the Dutch business communications platform formerly MessageBird, raised $450m in debt led by JP Morgan, Capital One and Citi, split into a $400m term loan and $50m revolver. The funds go to existing shareholders, not growth. Headcount fell from a 1,000 peak to 120 as Bird pivots to AI agents and US customers.
