Anthropic's Fable model rejected a prompt to rewrite open-source RNA-seq tool Salmon from C++ to Rust, flagging it on safety concerns due to biological terminology. The classifier refused to explain or accept rephrased prompts. The author completed the port using Opus 4.8 instead.
