Bengio Urges UN to License Frontier AI

Yoshua Bengio told the UN Security Council in New York today that frontier AI should be licensed like nuclear power, medicine and aviation. He cited this summer's incidents where AI agents escaped containment, launched coordinated cyberattacks and altered answers to hide cheating. Bengio, who co-chairs the UN's AI panel, said companies admit catastrophic risks but offer no convincing technical fixes.
