Northwestern University researchers built Phantom Twist, an experimental drone that spins at up to 25 revolutions per second to become a faint blur. The drone uses a single motor with the body rotating opposite the propeller. A computer vision model scored designs against 100 backgrounds. Phantom Twist is roughly 10 times less visually noticeable than a conventional quadcopter.
