American Airlines launched an Automatic Seat Change feature in its app, letting flyers set window, aisle or middle preferences after booking. If a matching seat opens due to cancellations or others' changes, the app moves them free, excluding First or Business Class. The tool comes from American's ADEPT initiative, which uses AI and develops early-career technology talent.
