Claude Fable 5 leaves subscriptions after July 7

Anthropic's Fable 5 model will move from standard subscription access to usage-credit billing after July 7. A Claude Code lead engineer stated the company aims to restore Fable as a standard subscription part as soon as capacity allows. The model recently returned after U.S. government scrutiny and is included on Pro, Max, Team, and select Enterprise plans for up to 50% of weekly usage limits through July 7.
