Gotion, VW Plan $3.67B Europe Battery Push

Gotion High-tech and Volkswagen's PowerCo plan to invest about €3.22 billion ($3.67 billion) in three joint ventures for battery and cathode production in Spain, Slovakia and Morocco, with combined European capacity of 37.5 GWh. Gotion's board approved the plan on September 28, but no investment agreement is signed and shareholder and government approvals are still pending.
