Microsoft confirmed a known issue where third-party apps using OLE automation cannot launch Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access after Windows updates from June 9, 2026. Affected apps include CCH Engagement, Zotero, and Dentrix. No fix exists yet; a future Windows update will resolve it.
