U of T AI model targets wildfire response

University of Toronto researchers developed TankerVision, an AI model to help first responders predict wildfire growth. The system uses cameras on piloted aircraft to capture fire and smoke data, mapping it onto 3D terrains. Testing began in 2024, with hardware planned for Canadian responders this fire season.
