Ford builds LFP cells for $30,000 EV pickup

Ford is assembling lithium iron phosphate prismatic cells at Bluoval Battery Park in Michigan, using licensed tech from China's CATL. The cells will power a $30,000 midsize electric pickup launching in 2027. Ford claims it is the first US company to ship LFP batteries for mass-market automotive use.
