Hyundai and SK On open $5 billion battery plant

Hyundai and SK On started production at their $5 billion joint-venture battery plant in Bartow County, Georgia. The facility, part of Hyundai's $12.6 billion Metaplant America, will supply batteries for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs. Initial annual capacity is 35 GWh. Hyundai's IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 are built at the Metaplant.
