AMD acquires MEXT for memory tiering tech

AMD acquired MEXT, a startup whose memory tiering technology makes NAND flash appear as DRAM to the operating system. The AI-based system moves infrequently accessed data from expensive DRAM to cheaper NAND storage transparently to applications. This aims to lower costs and improve memory efficiency in data centers.
