Modern EV batteries retain up to 95 percent of original range after five years. A 2025 Recurrent study found only 0.3 percent of EVs built from 2022 onward needed battery replacement. Geotab data shows batteries degrade at 2.3 percent per year, potentially lasting 20 years or more.
