Samsung pushed a faulty firmware update to smart refrigerators in South Korea, leaving thousands stuck mid-update with warming interiors and spoiled food days before Chuseok, the Sept. 24-26 harvest holiday. Some technicians could not visit until Oct. 1 or later. Samsung promised restoration by Sept. 24 and is reviewing compensation.
