Cognex to Buy Intel Spinoff RealSense for $600M

Cognex agreed to acquire RealSense, the Intel robotics spinoff, for about $600 million, paying $500 million in cash plus $106.5 million in retention and stock. RealSense expects $80 million to $90 million in sales this year and has turned profitable. Intel retains a 20% stake. The deal, closing in the fourth quarter pending regulatory clearance, excludes RealSense's facial authentication unit.
