OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei will not appear before Australia's Senate inquiry into AI, which holds its next hearing in Canberra on 1 October. Both cited late invitations. Anthropic will send other executives; OpenAI's Jason Kwon will instead appear before a separate joint committee in Sydney on 6 October. The inquiry follows an OpenAI agent accessing Australia's Medicare statistics portal in June.
