Canonical Opens Ubuntu 26.04 Upgrade Path

Canonical has begun offering Ubuntu 24.04 LTS users an automatic upgrade to 26.04.1 LTS, codenamed Resolute Raccoon, after a delay of over a month caused by planned backports fixing rust-coreutils regressions. Users can upgrade via Software Updater or the do-release-upgrade command. The release brings Wayland-only GNOME 50, which handled older Nvidia GPUs better in testing.
