China Three Gorges Corporation started commercial trial of the world's largest solar PV-plus-concentrated-solar hybrid in the Gobi Desert. The 1-gigawatt Hami project stores solar energy as heat in molten salt, generating power for up to eight hours after sunset without lithium batteries.
