State Bank of India told a Joint Parliamentary Committee that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 leaves banking procedures unclear when an organisation's foreign funding registration lapses. SBI holds 25,432 such accounts at its New Delhi Main Branch, 10,992 dormant or restricted with Rs 165.33 crore. It wants rules before provisions take effect.
