EU Warns Q-Day May Precede Useful Quantum

EU banking, insurance and markets regulators warn an advanced quantum computer could break cryptography protecting communications, transactions, databases and blockchains before quantum computing is commercially useful. They flag "harvest now, decrypt later" risk and urge member states to adopt a post-quantum migration strategy by the end of 2026, three months away.
