Firefox merged initial support for Vulkan Video decoding, offering a more cross-platform path for GPU-accelerated video playback beyond Linux's VA-API. VA-API is not universally supported by Linux graphics drivers, leaving NVIDIA and Arm embedded drivers largely out of the game.
