Tesla Roadster mistaken for asteroid in 2025

An amateur astronomer in Turkey mistook Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster for a near-Earth asteroid in January 2025. The Minor Planet Center temporarily designated it as 2018 CN41 before deleting the record within 17 hours after identifying the object as the car. The Roadster is currently more than 81,713,000 miles from Earth.
