Intel to manufacture firewall chips for Fortinet

Intel will manufacture Fortinet's SP6 firewall chip using the Intel 4 process. Fortinet is the first publicly named foundry customer for Intel. The SP6 succeeds the Arm-based SP5 and combines CPU cores with networking circuits. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan expects more foundry commitments in the second half of 2026 driven by Intel 18A.
