Paradromics implants brain chip in first patient

Paradromics implanted its Connexus brain-computer interface in the first participant of an FDA-approved clinical study. The patient, a Michigan woman with motor neuron disease, will be followed for six years. The dime-sized device uses 421 platinum-iridium microwires to translate attempted speech into text or synthesized speech.
