Ofcom fined Virgin Media £28 million for deliberately obstructing customers trying to cancel or switch providers. Agents dropped calls, put customers on hold, and transferred them excessively between 2022 and 2024. The regulator called it the largest fine under consumer protection rules for direct harm.
