Ford CEO Jim Farley told a Detroit conference that Europe can no longer fend off Chinese carmakers, while the US should take its time. Chinese brands held 12% of Europe's car market in August, up from almost nothing in 2020. Ford's own answer is a Valencia joint venture with Geely, which holds 34% and will build two of four electric models from 2028.
