Ex-Tesla scientist launches UMA humanoid robot

Rémi Cadene, a former Tesla scientist who worked on Optimus and Autopilot, launched UMA to build a lightweight humanoid called Northstar for Europe. The robot targets manufacturing, logistics, and homes. UMA emerged from stealth in December 2025 with backing from Greycroft, Red River West, Kima Ventures, and Factorial.
