Developer Recreates Adobe Suite with AI

Developer Brandon Thomas introduced an open-source project on a Reddit community that recreates seven Adobe applications using Claude Opus 5.5. Thomas founded ArtCraft in 2025 and claims the clean-room reimplementation avoids copyright issues by writing code in Rust from scratch. The seven apps include PhotoCraft, VectorCraft, FilmCraft, LightCraft, PrintCraft, EffectCraft, and DesignCraft.
