US indicts Russian for malware attacks on 80,000 freelancers

A California grand jury indicted Russian national Searzhudin Tamirlanovich Aktulaev for infecting 80,000 freelancers with TVRAT and DarkVNC malware via phishing attacks between June 2016 and November 2017. Aktulaev was arrested in Cyprus and extradited to the US, where he faces federal charges.
