Memory Costs Kill Festive Smartphone Discounts

India's smartphone market is expected to fall 10% this festive season as record memory costs force price hikes across Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, OnePlus and Apple. Apple's iPhone Air rose Rs 30,000, and the iPhone 17e Rs 15,000. Counterpoint says Q2 2026 volumes already declined 11% year-on-year, with financing now projected at 42% of 2026 sales.
