Photon Queue raised a $4 million oversubscribed seed round led by Playground Global. The startup builds quantum memory devices that store photons in free-space optical loops at room temperature. It has deployed commercial systems at Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Maryland. The company spun out from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024.
