EU urged to simplify cleantech state aid rules

A coalition of industrial companies and investors is urging the EU Commission to revise state aid rules for cleantech factories. The open letter calls for predictable production subsidies, such as fixed premiums per kilowatt-hour of battery cells or per kilogram of hydrogen, to unlock private investment ahead of the Electrification Action Plan expected on 15 July.
