Google Tests Paying Publishers for AI Overviews

Google is paying around 100 digital publishers for content used in AI Overviews, with payments ranging from under $1,000 over several months to more than $1 million a year. The test follows publisher traffic declines, but Google has not said how it calculates payments or whether the program will expand.
